At this event, the choir of Piazza Vittorio, formed of adults and children, will also make an appearance. The Central Market will become a place filled with culture and the event will welcome all.

On this day, live performances will connect everyone in attendance as the switch is flicked on the Central Market’s lights. As the lights are turned on the Central Market of Rome will become a mesmerising place to be, full of Christmas cheer.

Milan – December 6th, 2017

milan-canal.jpgFollowing Rome, on Wednesday 6th December, the eve of the patron feast of Sant'Ambrogio, Milan prepares to turn on its own Christmas lights. In the Piazza Duomo, the annual Christmas Tree Engagement Ceremony will be held.

This year, a 30-metre tree will stand in Piazza Duomo, adorned with a staggering 100,000 LED lights and more than 700 white Christmas balls. This towering tree is the tallest ever placed in Piazza Duomo for Christmas.

On December 6th the ceremony will also have a Christmas-themed musical performance. After the inauguration, the white lights of the tree will remain on for citizens until January 7th, 2018.
